I started my online shop without much direction, just as a place for my spare projects. It didn't go very well initially because I lacked focus and didn't really mind.
Then, when my sister told me she was pregnant after praying for a baby, I wanted to make something special for her. I asked if I could create the baby's blessing clothes, and she agreed. That's how my first suit design came to be.
Later, when I found out I was having a boy, I made a suit for my son. My brother and his wife were expecting a girl, so I designed and made a dress for their daughter. I added a few more baby clothing designs to my online shop.
I ran the shop successfully, making thousands of baby blessing clothes until I started teaching part-time at BYU-Idaho. With limited time, I had to choose between running the business or teaching, and I chose teaching. I still love designing children's clothing and now get to share that joy with my students. It's the best of both worlds.
